Corazón, located in the Pichincha province of Ecuador, is an excellent mountain for climbers to visit. Situated on the western side of the Avenue of Volcanos south of Quito, it is a common route chosen by mountaineers in preparation for higher peaks. Its unique shape has earned it its namesake - Corazón meaning "heart" in Spanish - as it can be seen looking like a heart from certain gullies on the northwest side of the mountain. With no permanent snow or glaciers, and a class 3 jumble of rocks guarding its summit, this mountain is open all year round for both experienced and beginner climbers alike. Once at the summit, climbers can witness breathtaking views of the other volcanoes and Quito.
