Kleifarvatn is a lake located in the centre of the Reykjanes Peninsula, near the Krýsuvík/Seltún geothermal area. Underwater exploration reveals many incredible sights including bubbling hot springs, while scuba diving tours provide a truly exhilarating experience. The ridge to the west is also a great area for hiking and epic views. It's definitely an area you can spend half a day exploring.

  • What it is: A beautiful lake in Reykjanes.

  • Best season: Any.

  • Best time of day: Any (but sunset is always great there).

  • Nice to know: This is a true playground with the smaller lakes, the geothermal areas, the ridge to the west (for hiking) and much more. You can easily spend half a day exploring here.
