The Gornergrat:
This place is for me one of the most iconic spots to visit when in Zermatt - or even Switzerland! It's located at 3135 meters above sea level and for me basically an equivalent (even if a few hundred meters lower) to the Jungfraujoch. You reach the Gornergrat by a train, that faces the Matterhorn the entire ride and you can put the windows down. (You can take some great pictures during the ride if you stick out your head in one window and take the picture from the window beside it hehe)
You can reach the Gornergrat from Zermatt on the Gornergrat railway, the highest open-air railway in Europe. At the summit, there's a hotel and an observatory with a cool telescope for stargazing. You can see glaciers, a lot of 4000er mountains and of course the Matterhorn! For me it's an absolute top spot and I would prefer this anytime over the Glacier Paradise, if I could choose only one.
