Location:

Leven Canyon is located in north-west Tasmania, near the town of Ulverstone. Access is via a short drive off the main highway, with parking available at the canyon visitor area. All roads are sealed.

Hike length:

There are two main viewing options: the top lookout and the base lookout. Visiting the top first is recommended, as it allows you to enjoy the main views without climbing the 600 stairs from the base.

• Top Lookout: A very short, easy walk from the car park, suitable for all visitors.

• Base Lookout: Accessible via a 600-step staircase from the top. The full round trip can take 45–60 minutes, depending on your pace and how long you linger at the viewpoints.

Difficulty Level:

• Top Lookout: Very easy.

• Base Lookout: Moderate, mainly due to the stairs on the way back up.
