Hike length:

Approximately 3 km return, taking 1–1.5 hours depending on pace and stops.

Difficulty Level:

Moderate — the track is well-formed but involves some uneven terrain, rocks and tree roots. It’s manageable for most walkers with a reasonable level of fitness.

Dogs allowed:

Yes, dogs are permitted.

More information:

The Floor Track allows you to experience the canyon from the bottom, giving a unique perspective of the sheer cliffs and the Leven River winding through the gorge. The trail passes through lush temperate rainforest and areas of open forest, with occasional fern-lined sections and moss-covered rocks.

For the best experience, it’s recommended to first visit the top lookout to enjoy the panoramic views and then descend via the 600 stairs to the canyon floor. This way, you avoid a strenuous climb at the beginning of your walk and can take your time enjoying the trail along the river.

The track is perfect for photography, spotting wildlife and experiencing the canyon’s natural beauty from a different angle. Make sure to wear sturdy footwear, as some sections can be slippery after rain.
