bericht van Ashley Castellanos

Barrio Viejo is one of Tucson's oldest neighborhoods, originally settled in the 1800s south of the Spanish Presidio. This historic area includes three districts—Barrio Libre, Barrio El Hoyo, and Barrio El Membrillo—and showcases a mix of Sonoran and Transitional architectural styles. The neighborhood's adobe row houses and buildings reflect Tucson's Mexican-American roots and offer a glimpse into the city's past. Despite changes over the years, Barrio Viejo remains a vibrant and sought-after neighborhood, preserving Tucson's unique architectural traditions.

Please be mindful that this is a neighborhood with residents living in these homes. It is a nice neighborhood to walk through and see all the architectural styles, but be mindful of photos and videos.
