Language barrier
The local Italians' english is not always perfect
Renzo & Sarah - Vivido Italy
Emilia Romagna, Italy
As an Italian-Irish couple, we didn’t have any problems.
However, we did take part in a few tours conducted in English and noticed how the level of English can vary.
Generally speaking, don’t worry: in touristic areas, the level of English will be fairly high, whilst in more rural areas, people will try their best to make themselves understood.
Of course, you can also use online translation tools to convey a sentence, or a great trick is to use the Google Lens or your iPhone camera to translate sings, information brochures, and most importantly menus.
