Knights Point Lookout is a panoramic viewpoint along the Haast highway. The viewing platform offers an incredible 180-degree view of the rugged coastline, deep blue Tasman Sea, dramatic cliffs and rock formations.

When you arrive, you'll find a large car park, picnic tables, and flushing toilets. You don't need to be here for very long, but it is a lovely place to take a break if you need to have lunch or stretch your legs.

The weather on the West Coast is notoriously unpredictable. I'd personally prefer to visit Knights Point on a sunny day when the sea sparkles and everything feels warm and cosy. But I've also been here when it's moody and overcast—it's still beautiful but much more untamed and wild.
