Jackson’s Retreat Alpine Holiday Park is the only camping/motorhome park along the Great Alpine Highway (State Highway 73) that links the East and West Coasts.

While the drive between the West Coast and Canterbury can be done in one day, you'll miss some of the best scenery on the South Island. Instead, you should spend one night here and explore places like Devils Punchbowl Falls.

The park has everything you could want, from a self-catering kitchen, BBQs, and free WiFi to a sauna and pizza ovens! There are powered and non-powered sites, all with views of the Taramakau River, snow-capped mountains and waterfalls. If you’re not camping, they also offer cabins and a three-bedroom self-contained house that sleeps 8, complete with a cosy log fire.
