The Viaduct is an Auckland icon and one of the most popular places in the city. 9/10s if we're looking for a restaurant or bar that will please everyone, we'll be able to find it here!

It's also a very popular place for events and festivals. The most recent one we went to was the 2025 New Zealand Sail Grand Prix, and although I’m not a big sailing fan, it was so much fun to see the area come alive with lots of fans from all over the world.

If you’re in Auckland overnight, one of my favourite things to do is to walk down by the Viaduct in the evening and see the Auckland Harbour Bridge and Sky Tower lit up. It's especially lovely when there's an event on and the bridge changes colour.
