Soul Bar & Bistro has been a staple of Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour for nearly two decades and is loved (or at least known) by every person I've ever met. The restaurant has unparalleled waterfront views and a drinks list that goes forever. Their menu champions fresh, local seafood and melt-in-your-mouth dishes bursting with flavour. My friend's favourites include freshly shucked Oysters and their salt and pepper squid. If you’re after something more indulgent, the crayfish crumpet with miso butter is just as good as it sounds.
Girls' night, your first date, graduation or just a happy Tuesday with your family. No matter what occasion you’re celebrating, Soul’s forever-buzzing atmosphere is guaranteed to make any occasion feel special. If you’re in Auckland, this restaurant is well worth a visit.
How to get there
Soul Bar & Bistro is in the heart of Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. If you’re driving, I recommend parking at the Downtown Carpark and walking the rest of the way. It’s around 5-10 minutes and my go-to place to park when I'm in the CBD. If you’re coming from somewhere else in the city or surrounding suburbs, I recommend taking the bus and getting off at Britomart Station. Walk down to Quay Street, turn left, and head towards the Viaduct.
