Located in Glenorchy on the northern shores of Lake Wakatipu, Headwaters Ecolodge boasts luxury accommodation in one of the most beautiful corners of New Zealand.
All of their lodges have beautiful mountain views and luxury facilities, and if you’re looking for things to do in and around Glenorchy, their staff will give you recommendations, book tours and organise guided walks for you and your loved ones.
When you’ve wrapped up your adventures for the day, their onsite restaurant uses locally sourced, organic produce to create food fit for a king (literally!).
If you’d rather spend your time in this part of the world relaxing, the lodge often runs in-house events like yoga sessions and a long Sunday morning buffet brunch.
How much does it cost?
A stay at Headwaters Ecolodge doesn’t come cheap! Their Quad Rooms start at $500 per night and range all the way up to $3,000 for The Headwaters House—a three-bedroom, two-bath cottage with 270-degree views of the Humboldt and Richardson mountains. But they also have campsites available if you'd like to save some money.
Headwaters Ecolodge is popular, and I recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially if you’re travelling in a large group or during New Zealand's peak travel season.
