Walter Peak High Country Farm is a slice of history nestled at the base of Walter Peak on the western shores of Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown.

You can only get to Walter Peak on the TSS Earnlaw, and I think that's what makes it so beautiful. This scenic cruise departs from Queenstown and takes around 35-40 minutes one way. While onboard, you can order drinks at the Promenade Café while you take in the views. Then, wander through the ship and peek into the engine room to see the original steam engines at work.

The best way to experience the TSS Earnslaw. If you’re looking for the most memorable experience, I recommend booking the Walter Peak Gourmet BBQ Dining experience. This 4-hour tour includes the round-trip cruise, the farm show, and dinner, which is served at the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant. It’s one of the best meals I’ve had in Queenstown!
