Irimahuwero Lookout is easily one of the best viewpoints on the Great Coast Road between Greymouth and Westport. It’s only a six-minute drive from Punakaiki, which is probably already on your itinerary as it’s home to the world-famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes.

After exploring the Pancake Rocks, head north and stop at the lookout for AMAZING views over the rugged coastline. There’s something about the West Coast that feels a little bit magical—it’s wild, untamed, and completely removed from the hustle of everyday life. If you’re road-tripping through this part of New Zealand, this is definitely a stop worth making to feel like you’re touching the edge of the world.
