I love a road trip down the West Coast because there are so many places to stop and explore. However, you could be travelling here for ages and might not have time to see everything!

The Buller Swing Bridge is one of the places I recommend stopping, especially if you like activities that are different from your usual side-of-the-road photo spot.

Clocking in at a whopping 110 metres, the Buller Swingbridge holds the title of New Zealand’s longest swingbridge, suspended 19 metres above the mighty Buller River.

You can cross the bridge at the Buller Gorge Swingbridge Adventure and Heritage Park, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding gorge.

It's only $12.50 to do this, so while it's not a free activity, it's worth doing if you want to test your fear of heights!
