The Riuwaka Resurgence (Te Puna o Riuwaka) is located in the forest of Tākaka Hill between Kaiteriteri and Golden Bay in Kahurangi (Abel Tasman) National Park.

It is one of the most magical places in the region and recognised as wāhi tapu (a sacred place) by the people of Te Ātiawa and Ngāti Rārua. Please respect the cultural significance of this area by not touching or swimming in the water and practising Leave No Trace :)

How to get there: Follow the short and peaceful 10-minute walk through a mossy, fern-filled forest, which takes you to the edge of the water, where you’ll see the deep blue spring.
