There are a few different ways to explore the fiords, but the most popular is on a Milford Sound cruise. We did a cruise with Mitre Peak Cruises and loved it but there are loads of different tour operators to choose from.

What I liked most about going with Mitre Peak is that the boat was smaller than the others I saw, which meant we got closer to the waterfalls (although this meant I got soaking wet!) and wildlife like dolphins and seals. I can’t recommend this experience enough. Everything from the staff to the views was world-class. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Milford Sound, and I’d tell any of my family and friends to do it. If you're headed there, a cruise with Mitre Peak is one of the best things to do in Milford Sound!
