Tekapo Springs are one of the most popular things to do on a trip through Lake Tekapo. The hot pools are located at the base of Mount John and are surrounded by snowy mountain peaks, pine forests and ridiculous views of the blue lake.

There are three hot pools, a sauna, steam rooms, and a plunge pool. There’s a cafe on site. It’s family-friendly, and there is lots to do for children all through the year. If you need some alone time, they have a day spa with lots of treatment options.

Although you can visit throughout the day, they offer the only guided hot pools and stargazing experience in Aotearoa, and you've got a really good chance of seeing the Milky Way!

How to get there

It’s a 5-minute drive from the centre of Tekapo, or about a 30-minute walk along the lake. If you’re staying at Lakes Edge Holiday Park, you can easily walk there in under 10 minutes, so there's no need to worry about driving back in the dark.
