Skotel Alpine Resort is one of the most popular lodges in Tongariro National Park. They have stunning views of the national park and lots of different options that will suit you no matter how you're travelling! These range from budget rooms to luxury lodges. They have an onsite restaurant too, so once you’ve finished hiking/skiing, you won’t need to move a muscle (except to get down to the hot tubs).

I've stayed here once and it was really nice. I'd like to come again ASAP and see if I can catch another sunset!

Personal tip: Although I liked it, if you’re travelling in a group, I think you’re better off renting an Airbnb to share as there are lots dotted around the National Park and Ohakune, which are often cheaper than lodges and have very similar facilities.
