Mount Maunganui Main Beach is a beautiful white-sand beach in the Bay of Plenty and one of our favourite places to visit in the summer.

If you get lucky with the weather, you can take surf lessons, explore Moturiki Island or hike up Mauao (The Mount) for sunrise. In the summer, you'll find lots of people walking up and down the beachfront, eating real fruit ice creams from The Wave.

There are cafes along the beachfront, but if you walk for around 10 minutes, you'll find yourself in the main Mount Maunganui town. Go to The General Cafe!
