Nins Bin might not be the most popular place to eat crayfish in Kaikōura, but it's definitely the most photogenic. This tiny, simple, blue-and-white static camper is also internationally recognised!

The crayfish here are perfectly bright red and fresh every day. Like most crayfish, they're eyewateringly expensive and a whole cray will set you back around $70, but their prices are hand-written on their tails (so there’s no awkward “oh no, I can’t afford that” moment at the counter).

It’s right on the waterfront, and while the space is tiny, that’s part of the charm. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if there’s a queue.
