Glendhu Bay is the only lakefront holiday park in Wānaka, and has the most amazing views of the mountains. This was one of my favourite campsites on our two-week tour of the lower South Island. I loved it so much that we were supposed to be here for one night, and ended up staying four. It's only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Wānaka and close to some of the area's best hikes, including Roy’s Peak and Diamond Lake.

Their facilities include a kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, hot showers ($2 coin) and a small shop. Unpowered sites start at $46 for two people per night. They also have powered sites for campervans, cabins, a three-bedroom house, and a lodge for bigger groups or families.
