Driftaway Queenstown is the most luxurious campsite in the Queenstown Lakes area. As someone who usually opts for DOC campsites and solar showers, I was gobsmacked by how fancy it was. Every spot comes with jaw-dropping views of Lake Wakatipu, and accommodation options range from unpowered camping sites to spacious self-contained cabins.

They're family-friendly, the facilities are beautiful, and the private hot tubs make the place feel more like a retreat than a campground.

Cost: This is the most expensive campsite I've ever stayed at, and an unpowered site is $84 per night for two people. I guess all the good stuff comes at a cost!
