You've heard of cruising through the fiords on a boat, but did you know there's a different and unique way to experience Milford Sound?
Rosco’s Milford Kayaks has been operating for over 31 years, making them New Zealand’s longest-running sea kayaking tour operator. They offer unforgettable adventures that let you kayak right through the heart of Fiordland National Park. They’re also the only operator offering longer kayak tours in Milford Sound, and their guides truly know this place like the back of their hand!
There is a range of tours to suit all adventure and ability levels. You can choose from a sunrise paddle, relaxed afternoon adventure, or a combo tour that includes a day hike on the world-famous Milford Track!
No matter what adventure you choose, you’ll kayak beneath towering mountain peaks, past hundreds of cascading waterfalls and, if you’re lucky, see some of the seals, dolphins and penguins who call this place home.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the adventure you choose. Their most popular cruise, the Sunriser Classic, takes you on a big loop of Milford Sound and hits all the highlights! It costs $199 NZD and lasts around 5 hours.
Do I need to book in advance?
The short answer is, yes! Rosco’s is one of the most popular tour operators in Fiordland, and for good reason! You’ll need to book your tour well in advance. There are often last-minute spaces available on tours (especially outside the peak season), but if you’re travelling this far to visit Milford Sound, I recommend booking as soon as you figure out your Fiordland itinerary.
