If you love the idea of wine-tastings, long lunches and endless sunshine, Blenheim is the perfect place to base yourself for a day or two. Marlborough is home to over a third of NZ's best vineyards and produces almost all of our world-renowned sauvignon blanc.

Blenheim is also the sunniest place in New Zealand! There were only 45 days of rain in 2024, which is nothing compared to Milford Sound, which had 182 (if you're visiting, pack a rain jacket).

Beyond wineries, Bleheim is actually a really lovely town. You'll find lots of cafés, restaurants, bars, boutique shops, and artisanal food stores. There are also some gorgeous scenic riverside walks along the Taylor River Reserve and the Marlborough Farmers’ Market, which happens every weekend.
