Just minutes from town, the short yet rewarding Tonquin Trail follows the coastline, revealing fantastic elevated views of crashing waves, nearby islands, and the wide horizon.

The path also leads down to a few sandy beaches, perfect for checking out rock pools. Expect multiple stairways and a few short, steep sections along the way.

For a longer hike or a complete loop, you can extend the trail to Middle Beach and even further south to Mackenzie Beach (take the Multi-Use Pathway back to Tofino).

The main trailheads are located on Tonquin Park Road and the Community Hall, west of downtown Tofino.
