Sombrio Beach has a secret - a hidden waterfall in a canyon! To reach it, walk 1.5km across the pebbly beach to the far eastern end, which takes about 30 minutes at a relaxed pace.

Look for a large pile of driftwood near a creek. Follow the flowing water upstream to discover a stunning waterfall cascading through a mossy canyon. Be prepared to get your feet wet!

The Sombrio Beach parking lot is reached via a 1.7km unpaved, downhill road from Highway 14. It’s frequently used and can be a bit rough, so be sure to drive slowly!
