Ronning's Garden was established in 1910 by Bernt Ronning, a Norwegian settler with the perchant for exotic plants and trees. He ordered seeds from around the world. Over the years, the wild rainforest began to take over the 5 acre garden again.

More recently, a group of volunteers has been working to restore the heritage garden. Entry to the garden is free, though donations are gratefully accepted. Access is via an easy 10 minute walk along a restored section of the Old San Josef Wagon Road.

Look for the Monkey Puzzle tree, one of the oldest and largest in BC.
