This small city (pop 5,000) is host to the world's largest outdoor collection of publicly displayed totem poles. For me, that makes it well worth a short stop.

Duncan's Totem Tour Walk showcases up to 44 unique totems, with all but one located in the downtown area. If possible, plan your visit to coincide with the Farmers' Market, which takes place every Saturday throughout the year.
