The beaches here — Oyambre, Merón, Tronco

Park

A few kilometers west of San Vicente, Oyambre Natural Park covers a stretch of coast that includes dunes, estuaries, cliff tops, and some of the least visited beaches in Cantabria — which is saying something given that Cantabria is not an overcrowded region to begin with.

The park has no main attraction and no entrance fee. It is simply a protected stretch of coast where the infrastructure has been kept deliberately minimal. The beaches here — Oyambre, Merón, Tronco — are long, backed by dunes and farmland, and largely empty outside of August.

Drive through the park on the coastal road rather than the main highway. Stop where the road gets close to the water. Walk out onto the dunes if the path is accessible. This is not a destination stop — it is a pace stop, a reminder that not everything on this route needs a parking lot and an information board to be worth the time.
