If you are looking to experience the stunning natural beauty of the Swiss Alps, then hiking at Riffelsee should be top on your list! Getting to Riffelsee is easy. From Zermatt, take the Gornergrat Railway up to Rotenboden, where you can begin your hike down. The hike is a gentle descent, and no matter which direction you turn, the Matterhorn is facing you in its full glory! It's an epic sight.

Once hikers you reach Riffelsee, they are rewarded with a breathtaking view. The lake is surrounded by towering peaks and is a popular spot for photographers looking to capture the perfect shot of the Matterhorn. From Riffelsee, you should continue your way down to Riffelberg, and the whole hike should take you no longer than 1.5 hours.
