One of the best daytrip you can possibly do from Geneva is a visit to Annecy! Tucked away in the French Alps near the Swiss border, it is a underrated hidden gem of a town, surrounded by stunning mountains. You can easily stroll or pedal your way around town, checking out cool local shops, snacking at the markets, or just chilling out in one of the many parks with a picnic!

What really gives Annecy its charm is its web of canals running through the old town, which is partly why the town is nicknamed the "Venice of France" Plus, with all those colorful old buildings, cobblestone streets, and flower-filled window boxes, taking a walk through Annecy's Old Town feels like stepping into a fairy tale!

You can sign up for a half-day tour that transports you from Geneva to Annecy and includes a guided tour with free time for shopping and exploring, with my link below.

If you prefer to visit Annecy as a free-and-easy daytrip on your own, the easiest way to reach there is to hop on a Flixbus, which takes just 50 minutes to reach. The return bus tickets costs between 9 to 20 euros depending on time and availability. Book your tickets here.

One popular activity to do in Annecy which I highly recommend would be boat pedalling! At Jacquet Promenade along the lake's shore, you'll discover a variety of pedal boats up for rent. Prices typically hover around €15 EURO for a half-hour rental, though this can vary depending on the size of the boat. And here's the fun part—some of these pedal boats come equipped with slides or diving boards for an extra splash of excitement! You can book your boat here.
