🚆 Do I Need the Swiss Travel Pass?

If you’re planning to hop between Montreux, Interlaken, Brienz, and Lugano — by train, the Swiss Travel Pass (STP) will save you money and stress. It covers all those long train rides, plus local trams, buses, and boats. You’ll also get 50% off most mountain cable cars and funiculars.

✅ Get the STP if…

  • You don't want to rent your own car

  • Your trip is 5–15 days and you’re visiting 2+ regions.

  • You plan on taking trains and buses between different areas.

  • You want convenience over squeezing every last franc.

🎟 Swiss Half Fare Card (HFC)

This gives you 50% off all trains, trams, buses, boats, and mountain railways. You’ll pay as you go, but at half price.

  • You’re renting a car but still plan to take a few cable cars/trains.

🌄 Regional Travel Passes
