Paraglide in Mürren
There are tons of places to paraglide in Switzerland—Interlaken, Zermatt, Grindelwald, even lakeside towns. But if you’re only going to do it once, we recommend Mürren with Airtime Paragliding. Kids ages 5 and older can do this, and our boys LOOOVED this. (Yes the description above says 6 and older but it's only because the drop down didn't have an option for 5 and older!)
Here’s why:
The view: You’re not just looking at the mountains—you’re flying out of a cliff-top village and drifting over Lauterbrunnen Valley, often called the prettiest valley in Switzerland with its 72 waterfalls and towering cliffs.
The ride: Flights from Mürren tend to be longer and more dramatic than other spots, giving you more time in the air to actually enjoy it (instead of just a quick swoop down).
The vibe: Mürren is car-free and peaceful, so the whole experience feels a little more magical and less touristy than launching from the busy Interlaken area.
How to do it: You can get here via the Stechelberg to the Mürren village cable car. If you're paragliding, you'll land back in the valley in Stechelberg so you only need to buy a one way ticket up!
Swiss travel pass discounts: The cable care is free with the Swiss Travel Pass or the Bernese Oberland Pass. You can also get 50% off with the Swiss Travel Pass.
👉 If paragliding is on your bucket list, make it Mürren. It’s the most unique and jaw-dropping way to experience Switzerland from above.
