Pride and Prejudice Hike anyone?! This is the iconic ledge that Kiera Knightly stands on in the 2005 adaptation.
One of the most iconic views in the Peak District, Stanage Edge is a dramatic gritstone ridge that stretches for nearly four miles across the moors. The best part? You don't need to be an avid hiker to enjoy it. With easy access from the roadside, you can be rewarded with sweeping views over the Hope Valley after just a short walk.
Here is a link to the full circular walk, but getting to the Pride and Prejudice ledge is a short walk and you can turn around and go back to your car after that if you'd like.
Good to Know:
• Easy to moderate walking.
• Free parking available at several lay-bys.
• Best at sunrise or sunset.
• Exposed to the elements, so bring a jacket even in summer.
• Dogs and sheep are common in the area.
If you're looking for maximum scenery with minimal effort, Stanage Edge is hard to beat.
To find the ledge, the closest place to park is at Hook’s Carr Car Park . Alternatively you can park at Hollins Bank Car Park (S32 1BR).
