Ponte dei Salti (Lavertezzo, Valle Verzasca)

If you do the BoBosco marble run hike, you will end here! But it is also worth a visit if you don't want to do the hike.

If you’ve seen photos of a dreamy double-arched stone bridge over turquoise water, this is it—Ponte dei Salti in Lavertezzo. Dating back to the 17th century, the bridge arches gracefully across the Verzasca River, one of the most beautiful swimming spots in Ticino, and maybe even all of Switzerland!

  • Why go: Crystal clear blue water, incredible arched bridge, most beautiful setting to swim and feel like a local!

  • With kids: Older kids will love dipping their toes or even jumping into the river (only when conditions are safe—it can be cold and the current strong). For younger ones, bring swimsuits for paddling near the shore or simply enjoy a picnic on the rocks.

  • When to visit: Summer is the most popular time—go early in the day or late afternoon to avoid crowds.

  • Getting there: The bridge is right in the village of Lavertezzo, about 25 minutes by car or bus from Locarno. There’s parking nearby, though it fills quickly in summer.

👉 Whether you stop for photos, a swim, or just a stroll across the arches, Ponte dei Salti is one of Switzerland’s most charming (and most photographed) bridges.
