Fronalpstock Hotel & Restaurant

Perched at the very top of the Fronalpstock chairlift, this spot is all about the views. From the terrace, you can see 10 lakes and countless mountain peaks—including Pilatus, Rigi, and even the distant Bernese Alps on a clear day.

• The restaurant: Casual alpine dining with hearty Swiss dishes—think rösti, cheese plates, and soups. The large terrace is the star, perfect for a meal while kids play nearby.

• The hotel: Simple but cozy rooms where you can actually spend the night on the summit. Waking up for sunrise above the clouds is something special.

• For families: A great stop after the ridge hike or a short chairlift ride up from Stoos. The nearby panorama loop trail is kid-friendly and only takes about 20 minutes.

• Season: Open during the summer lift season (May–October) and in winter for skiing.
