Noah’s Ark Playground (Cardada)
At the top of the Cardada cable car above Locarno, there’s a whimsical playground shaped like Noah’s Ark—set against sweeping views of Lake Maggiore. Kids can climb, slide, and explore while parents enjoy the lake-and-mountain panorama.
The vibe: Creative and fun, with a big wooden ark at the center surrounded by slides, climbing nets, swings, and balance beams.
With kids: Great for ages 3–12. Younger kids love the ark, while older ones race around the climbing areas. Parents can relax on nearby benches or grab a drink from the mountain restaurant.
How to get there: Drive or take the funicular from Locarno to Orselina, then the Cardada gondola to the top station. The playground is right there—no extra walking required.
Good to know: You can combine it with the chairlift to Cimetta for panoramic views from Switzerland’s lowest point (Lake Maggiore) to its highest (Dufourspitze).
👉 Between the ark, the views, and the easy gondola access, this playground is one of Ticino’s highlights for families.
