The GoldenPass Express is one of the most scenic train rides in Switzerland — connecting Interlaken and Montreux through alpine villages, mountain valleys, and lakeside vineyards with huge panoramic windows the whole way.
The direct train takes about 3h15 and runs 4 times daily in both directions. It’s such a fun way to transfer between the Jungfrau region and Lake Geneva without renting a car.
If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, the train ride is included and you only need to pay for a seat reservation. We highly recommend reserving seats in advance, especially in summer, since this route can sell out months ahead.
For an extra special experience, you can upgrade to First or Prestige Class with reclining heated seats and even rotating chairs that face the direction of travel 👏
