Locarno to Orselina Funicular

The funicular runs from downtown Locarno up to Orselina, where you’ll find the Cardada cable car. It’s a quick 5-minute ride with nice views over the city and Lake Maggiore.

👉 You really only need to take the funicular if you don’t have a car to get to Orselina—since there’s parking available right at the Cardada cable car station in Orselina. If you’re traveling by train, though, it’s the easiest way to connect from Locarno station straight up to the gondola.
