BoBosco Trail (Brione Verzasca → Lavertezzo)
This was hands-down our kids’ FAVORITE thing we did in Ticino—they begged to go back the next day. The BoBosco Trail is like a magical treasure hunt through the forest, with giant wooden marble runs hidden along the way. Every time the kids spotted one, they’d race ahead, drop in a marble, and cheer as it clacked its way down the track.
The hike: About 5.5 km, mostly downhill, taking ~3 hours at a kid’s pace with the marble play stations.
How it works: Park in Brione Verzasca, then follow the trail downhill to Lavertezzo. At the end, you’ll arrive at the famous double-arched stone bridge, where you can jump into emerald pools and cool off in the river. Grab gelato or a cold drink from a nearby café (cash only at a lot of places), let the kids swim, then catch the bus back up to Brione and your car.
How to make it shorter: Don’t want to hike the whole way? You can start closer at the Ganne or Motta bus stops so you can still finish at the iconic bridge!
Where to buy the marbles: There's a cafe in Lavertezzo with the marbles, but they only accept cash. We bought our marbles at Gelateria Verzasca, Brione Verzasca (Ganne) because they accepted card!
What to bring: Marbles, swimsuits and towels for the river, sturdy shoes, and plenty of snacks.
👉 Between the marble runs, the turquoise river, and a swim at one of Switzerland’s most iconic bridges, this trail is pure childhood magic—and an adventure parents will love just as much.
