This quick but rewarding trail overlooks Lake Windermere from its southern tip, giving you one of the best panoramic views in the entire region without needing a full mountain climb. The trail winds through forest and open fell before opening up to sweeping views of Windermere, the Langdale Pikes, and Coniston Old Man glowing in golden light. ✨
It’s a favourite for families because it’s short (under 2 km round trip) but feels like a real adventure — with rocks to scramble, sheep grazing nearby (and a highland cow if you're lucky!), and plenty of space for kids to explore safely at the top.
