The cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracts visitors with its impressive nave, chapter house, and Galilee Chapel. With a rich history dating back to the Anglo-Saxon era, Durham Cathedral continues to be a significant religious and cultural landmark in the region.

It's also famous for it's role as Hogwarts!

The cloisters and courtyard were used in multiple scenes. In film 1, you'll see Harry walking with Hedwig in the snowy courtyard. And in Chamber of Secrets, when Ron tries to curse Malfoy, only for it to backfire on him and slugs come out of him mouth.

The Chapter House (located just off the cloister) was also used as Professor McGongall’s classroom. You might remember Harry and Ron running down the hallway and into the classroom because they are late, only to find McGonagall disguised as a cat, waiting for them.
