The Il Spir Lookout sits high above the Rhine Gorge (Rheinschlucht) — often called the Swiss Grand Canyon — with panoramic views of the turquoise river that will leave you speechless. 😍
We took the Connbächli Trail here — it follows a little stream where kids can float wooden toy boats nearly the whole way to Conn (buy the boats at the Flims Visitor Centre).
You can also walk here from Flims Waldhaus, following an easy 1-hour forest trail marked “Conn.” Just beyond the Conn restaurant (a must-stop for lunch or dessert), you’ll reach the lookout platform perched dramatically over the gorge.
🚌 Getting there:
Walk from Flims Waldhaus (about 1 hr each way) or follow the Connbächli Trail.
Or take the Conn shuttle bus from Flims Dorf, Post to Conn — it drops you right next to the restaurant. This private bus isn’t included in the Swiss Travel Pass.
💰 Bus fare (2025): CHF 10/adult one way | CHF 5 for ages 7–15 | free under 6
💡 : The combination of the Connbächli Trail + Conn restaurant + Il Spir viewpoint makes for a perfect half-day family adventure in Flims!
