The Trauffer Wooden Toy Museum is where Switzerland’s most famous toy—the little carved wooden cow 🐄—comes to life. For over 80 years, the Trauffer family has been making these toys in Brienz, and the museum lets you step right into that tradition.

• What you’ll see: A colorful mix of old and new Trauffer toys, hands-on exhibits about how they’re made, and the history of the family workshop.

• With kids: The best part is the interactive side—kids (and adults!) can try painting their own wooden cow, and play with life-sized wooden toys,. There’s also a playground on-site, so it’s easy to make this more than just a quick stop.

• Location: This is the upstairs portion of Bretterhotel! Even if you aren't staying at the hotel this is worth a stop.
