Friday- Arrive to Colorado Springs and hike Garden of the Gods

Let's say you're coming to visit from Friday - Sunday. This is the itinerary for you! The first day is slower allowing you to lightly explore both Seven Falls and Garden of the Gods getting accustomed to the elevation. You end the night with an exciting trendy Mexican restaurant with the BEST margaritas!

Saturday - Pancake Rocks, Rita the Troll, & Scenic Drive to Cripple Creek

Now that you have a little hiking down, let's climb in elevation and increase the mileage. You're going to start your day with hiking the 6 mile Pancake Rocks Trail on the way to Cripple Creek and see Rita the Rock Planter. This is the longest day, so I suggest bringing lots of water and snacks. Don't worry, you'll have a GREAT time!

SUNDAY - Scenic Train ride through the Royal Gorge

You got your hardest day out of the way! Now, it's time to see sit and see some beautiful canyon views! Stop at a cafe in the morning and head down to Canon City for a beautiful Royal Gorge Train Ride! You can eat lunch inside the train so just sit and relax for your flight back home early the next day.

I have done this EXACT same itinerary with my family who has come to visit. It's showcases the most in such a small amount of time!

Along the way, you'll pass historic mining ruins and colorful birdhouses that lead you to the upper parking lot where Rita resides.
