Paria Townsite is a ghost town that's now only ruins that was originally settled by Mormon pioneers in the late 1800s. The settlers tried to farm in this remote desert area but the lack of water forced them to relocate.

The multicolored rock here is what most people visit to see however. The colors are brightest at sunrise and sunset. The road in to the townsite can be tricky to drive, especially after snow or rain, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended if visiting.
