The San Xavier del Bac Mission is just south of Tucson and is an 18th century Spanish colonial church often called the “White Dove of the Desert”. It gets this name due to its striking white stucco exterior and Baroque interior. Visitors can explore the grounds and admire the exterior for free and the church's interior is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm with guided tours (free but donations encouraged).
