The Narrows in Zion National Park is an iconic out and back hike where you wade directly through the Virgin River, with water sometimes reaching chest high in some sections. You’ll need to take the shuttle from the visitor center to reach the trailhead from March through November and it’s highly recommended to rent gear like sturdy water shoes and a walking stick from the outfitters near the shuttle stop.
Flash flood risk is real here, so always check conditions, start early to avoid the biggest crowds, and bring plenty of food and water since most people spend around six hours on the trail. Try to hike at least 2.5 miles in to Wall Street which is the most photogenic, easily accessible section of the canyon with far fewer crowds. And don’t forget a dry bag to keep your essentials safe on this bucket list adventure! While most people do this hike on their own, if you do prefer a guide you can book one at the 'see deals' button!
