The Sand Caves in Kanab are a manmade cave system originally dug by early settlers for shelter and storage that offer a unique glimpse into Kanab's history. The hike involves a short rock scramble up fairly steep slickrock so don't go if there's a chance of ice and wear shoes with good grip. While many people have carved into the walls here over the years, please don't add to it so that we can try to preserve the sand caves for future visitors.
